The Charlotte Mountain Bike Summer Series takes place every Wednesday night throughout the summer, at various trails in Charlotte.  These races have a format similar to criteriums; the racers must try to finish as many laps as possible, within a certain time frame.  Each course varies in length and obstacles, and will challenge every level of cyclist!

Join your friends and family on two-wheels this Memorial Day as we remember our heroes at the Checkered Flag Foundation Memorial Day Social Ride and Celebrity Trike Challenge.  This event will start and end at Penske Racing in Mooresville, NC. 

After the ride, participants will be treated to a full catered meal and a Celebrity Trike Challenge where Brad Keselowski will be mixing it up on three wheels against many have his NASCAR racing pals.

The Collier Lilley Ride 4 Life is an event that will take cyclists through the beautiful back roads of Mecklenburg, Iredell, Rowan, and Cabarrus counties.  This ride serves to allow cyclists a great fully supported course, while raising money for Lifeshare of the Carolinas which is an organization that assists with organ transplants.  Plan to spend the morning on your bike and then stick around for a great lunch and celebrate all of the lives that have been saved due to organ donations!

New date for the Tree Shaker in 2012!

The Tree Shaker mountain bike challenge is a 12 or 6 hour long mountain bike race, which winds along the pristine single track trails of Anne Springs Close Greenway.  This is a grueling event that will test the physical ability and skill of all cyclists.  Come join us for a full day of mountain biking and fun!

The Giordana Crossroads Classic is comprised of 5 days of fast paced bike racing!  Cyclists will take part in the crowd pleasing criteriums and in longer road races.  Each night the winner and the overall race leader will receive a Maillot Jaune (or yellow jersey).  We also award a Maillot Vert (green jersey) to each of the sprint winners.  The $20,000 purse attracts some of the nation's best pro's, along with local cyclists all trying to get their part of the action!

The Rivers Edge Mountain Bike Marathon takes place on the Wood Run Trail System in the beautiful Uwharrie National Forest.  The race will consist of five laps around a 10 mile loop of single track trails.  For those of you who plan to make their way to the Uwharrie National Forest, we are going to fire up the grill after the race and cook hot dogs and hamburgers and have many great sides including pasta salad, slaw, beans, all of the fixins and ice cold beer!

 Pedal the Park is a ride that not only allows cyclists to see the beautiful back roads of Mecklenburg, Iredell, and Cabarrus counties, but also raises money for the Levine & Dickson Hospice House, which is an organization that gives excellent care to those who are sick.  The two course options follow roads that are surrounded by farm land and have rolling hills and flats, which make it fun for every rider.  This event satisfies two hungers of cyclists: to have an enjoyable, well marked ride, and to be able to help others in need.  

The Nutrithon duathlon, 5K and 8K run is an event that is sure to become every athlete's favorite race!  Both the 5K and 8K run, along with both running legs in the duathlon, utilize the 8th Street greenway, which is a relatively flat course that is sheltered by a canopy of trees.  The bike portion of the duathlon will head out onto the gently rolling, country roads that surround the city of Kannapolis.  All of the races will end on the NC Research Campus, where a post race meal and celebration will be held.  Come out to enjoy at great race and help support our country's finest scientists!

New Date: October 13th

The Grind on the Greenway may have a new date, but it will still be action packed and include a full day of riding the trails! For 6 hours cyclists will race on the pristine single track trails of Anne Springs Close Greenway.  The 9 miles of trail are equipped with obstacles for all cycling levels, and has 805 ft of elevation per lap.  There will be nutrition provided during the race, along with a post race party held at the Field Trial Barn. Come and enjoy a great day of riding on a perfect fall day!

Join us Saturday, October 22, 2011 for the third annual UNC Charlotte 4.NINER K scholarship fund-raising event. Run or walk your way through this challenging and family-friendly 4.9k course, located throughout the beautiful UNC Charlotte campus. All race proceeds will be used to fund need-based scholarships for current students. After the race, stay for FREE food, entertainment, awards, and fun activities!
