Bikes on CATS Busses and LYNX Train for FREE
The Charlotte Area Transportation System is allowing bicycles on CATS Busses and the LYNX Train free, May 4-10, during BIKE! Charlotte.  Using the bicycle, in combination with a CATS Bus or the LYNX Train, is an efficient, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly way to travel in the Queen City.   For information, including a video on how to load your bike on the bus, visit the Rack and Ride program on the CATS website.  For information on how to load you bike on the LYNX Train, you can visit the Rack and Ride section of the LYNX website.




 

Cycle Charlotte - Experience Charlotte Without a Windshield
Cycle Charlotte is a bicycle festival promoting a friendly and safer environment for bicycle transportation in the Queen City. This exciting festival will feature events for people of abilities and skill levels. The day includes a children’s bicycle safety rodeo, a police supported three-mile family fun ride in Uptown Charlotte and a 10 and 25 mile recreational ride through the streets of Charlotte. The ride will travel through several of Charlotte’s beautiful neighborhoods and will have rest stops, mechanical support and follow vehicles. After the ride, enjoy the festival atmosphere with variety of food, live entertainment and other activities for all to enjoy.

Location: Dowd YMCA (400 E. Morehead Street)
Time: 7:30 AM – Registration
9:00 AM – Start three-mile Family Fun Ride,
9:30 AM - 10 and 25 mile rides
9:30 AM – 11:30 AM Kid’s Bicycle Safety Rodeo
11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Music, Food & Fun
Noon – 1:00 PM Bike Stunt Show
Cost: Individual $20, $5 additional for each family member

Bicycles East Poker Ride and Metric Century
The inaugural Poker Ride will feature a recreational ride around the rolling hills of Union County. During the Poker Ride, participants will pick up 5 playing cards with the top 3 poker hands winning cash prizes. This ride will be limited to the first 100 registrants.

Kids Bicycle Safety and Educational Rodeo
Kids Bicycle Safety Rodeos are designed to educate children of all ages about bicycle safety. Bikes for children ages 8 to 12 are provided at the event. A limited supply of FREE helmets will be given to kids who participate in the rodeos. Hosted by Dirt Divas Mountain Bike Club.

Mountain Bike Beginner Skills Clinic For Women
The Dirt Divas will be hosting a beginner women’s skills clinic at the US National Whitewater Center. Groups will be spilt based on abilities. Come out and ride with the Dirt Divas!

Fast Bicycle Ride
Come join the crew from Bicycle Sport South Charlotte on a 50 mile bike ride. The ride will average 20+ mph. This ride is designed more for the experienced cycling enthusiast.
